Today Getliņi EKO, starts to sell the new yield of cucumbers grown in the company’s greenhouse. The cucambers are sold in "Getliņi" store in the territory of landfill as well as in the leading food store chains of Latvia. The orange and red tomatos will supplement the autumn yield at the end of October.

The company’s agriculturist chose to grow two types of cucumber - the long cucumbers and the short ones. Bothe types are for now available in company’s store, for the price of 1.45 €/kg for long cucumbers and 2.45 €/kg for short cucumbers. The food store chains will sell only long cucumbers of "Getliņi". The new season of the vegetables that has started in October will last until July 2018 and "Getliņi EKO" expect to harvest 10 to 12 tons of cucumbers weekly.

The "Getliņi" store is open on working days from 11.00 until 19.00, it is located in landfill "Getliņi", 57 Kaudzīšu street, Rumbula.

Growing cucumbers is the most recent plan of Getliņi for agriculture development, which supplements the successful growth of tomatoes. The greenhouse is 0.3 hectares wide, it is suitable for intensive growth of cucumbers in winter, by using lighting and recuperation devices. This greenhouse is made as a highly technological greenhouse suitable for growing cucumbers. LED lighting is used in it and the greenhouse is the first such greenhouse in the world, where a full-led lighting is used for growing cucumbers. The company is also planning to start mild-curing and packing of cucumbers soon.

In choosing and growing the cucumber seeds, Getliņi EKO collaborates closely with experimental greenhouses, which are developed by the PHILIPS company in order to select the cucumber sorts which are suitable for growing in winter.
